Ukraine. Barley shipments in recent months match late-season exports

Almost 25 KMT of Ukrainian barley was exported in April. This is 81% lower compared to March and 93% lower from April 2019/20. This season’s exports had totaled 4.1 MMT (-12% y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.
In April, the highest volumes were shipped to China and Turkey. At the same time, their market shares equal 69% and 0.5%, respectively.
China more than tripled barley imports from Ukraine compared to MY 2019/20. Apart from China, the following countries boosted purchases: Libya (twofold) and Lebanon (eightfold).
The majority of other importers reduced barley purchases from Ukraine compared to last season: the EU (-89%), Saudi Arabia (-74%), Qatar (-67%), Jordan (-55%), Israel (-44%).
