Ukraine: a slump in pea exports
Ukraine exported 20% less peas in the first four months this season than at the same time in MY 2018/19 and 47% below the record 2017/18 volume, reports UkrAgroConsult.
October 2019/20 witnessed a decrease in shipments to the EU: 24% less than in the same period in MY 2018/19. Apart from the European Union, the following countries reduced purchases: Pakistan (-62%), Malaysia (-21%).
Ukraine stepped up pea exports to the following markets: India (+77% year-on-year), Sri Lanka (+30%), Nepal (+36%), Thailand – 5.5 KMT against 0.5 KMT in the whole of last season.
