Ukraine. Abundant rains resulted in rapidly growth of winter and spring grains
Weather conditions. On June 1-10, the weather pattern rapidly switched from comparatively cool to hot, dry one.
Moisture supply. No precipitation was observed. Due to abundant rains in May and early June, the leaves and stems of winter and spring grains grew rapidly that may affect lodging resistance of plants in the future.
Crop condition. High air temperatures and dryness throughout the week under review accelerated development of winter grains. In the south, the soil moisture deficit is harmful especially for wheat and winter barley in fields that were not fallow before their planting.
