UGA: the world must give a decisive response to the terrorist state

On the night of July 18 and 19, russia shelled port infrastructure facilities involved in the Grain Initiative. Thus, russia has once again proved that it is a terrorist state. It has attacked grain infrastructure facilities in Ukrainian ports that are used to supply food, including to Asia and Africa. In this way, Russia is trying to undermine the world’s food security through terror.
The aggressor has once again proved that human values are an empty sound for it and that its words are not trustworthy. Grain terminals and port infrastructure in the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk were attacked. The night attack put a significant part of the grain export infrastructure of the port of Chornomorsk out of commission. Experts estimate that it will take at least a year to fully restore the damaged facilities overnight. The seaport of Chornomorsk also lost 60,000 tons of grain to be loaded onto a large-tonnage vessel and shipped through the grain corridor 60 days ago.
The grain infrastructure of international and Ukrainian traders and carriers was most affected. The night before, the port infrastructure involved in the operation of the grain corridor was also attacked. As a result, the tanks and berths of the Odesa port were damaged.
The UGA is convinced that such actions of Russia should receive a decisive response from the international community – not just condemnation and concern, but tough measures to restore free navigation in the Black Sea, which Russia has de facto started to consider its inland sea. Otherwise, if Ukraine is unable to export grain, the world, especially poor countries in Africa, will face food shortages that will become unaffordable for their populations, and developed countries will experience even greater food inflation and instability.
