U.S. Corn Unchanged at 54% Gd/Ex, Soy Unchanged at 57% Gd/Ex

Corn – The condition of the 2022 U.S. corn crop was unchanged last week at 54% rated good/excellent. Five states indicated that the corn condition improved last week, 10 states indicated that the condition had declined, and 3 states were unchanged. Most of the improvements were found in the eastern locations while most of the declines were found in the central and western locations. The top five rated corn states are: Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, and Minnesota. The five lowest rated corn states are: Texas, Kansas, Colorado, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

The corn is 92% dough compared to 94% last year and 93% average. The corn is 63% dented compared to 72% last year and 67% average. The corn is 15% mature compared to 19% last year and 18% average.

Soybeans – The condition of the 2022 U.S. soybean was unchanged last week at 57% rated good/excellent. Six states indicated that the soybean condition improved last week and 12 states indicated that the condition had declined. Most of the improvements were found in the eastern locations while most of the declines were found in the central and western locations The top five rated soybean states are: Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. The five lowest rated soybean states are: Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Missouri.

The soybeans are 94% setting pods compared to 96% last year and 96% average. The soybeans are 10% dropping leaves compared to 17% last year and 14% average.

Soil Moisture – The nation’s topsoil moisture declined last week with 3 states indicating improved soil moisture, 13 states indicating lower soil moisture, and 2 states were unchanged. Most of the improvements were found in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio while most of the declines were found in the central and western locations. The five states with the highest soil moisture are: Louisiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The five states with the lowest soil moisture are: Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri, and Iowa.
