Turkey is becoming an increasingly important importer of Ukrainian soybeans and corn

Turkey continues to increase its purchases of Ukrainian agricultural products, particularly soybeans and corn. Between January and July 2025, total imports from Ukraine reached $1.48 billion, a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
The most significant growth was observed in corn and soybean imports. Turkey’s corn imports in the first seven months of 2025 increased 2.4-fold, reaching $760.6 million, compared to $322.9 million in the same period in 2024. Soybean imports also showed significant growth – almost doubling, reaching $255.4 million compared to $141.9 million last year, an increase of 80%.
Sunflower oil was the only commodity to register a decrease in imports. In the first seven months of 2025, its imports amounted to $319.0 million, 18% less than in the same period of 2024 ($389.9 million).
It is worth noting that corn, soybeans, and sunflower oil together account for 90% of total Ukrainian agricultural imports to Turkey, compared to 69% in 2024.
