On February 26, the Turkish state grain agency TMO held an international tender for the purchase of feed corn, contracting a total of 350,000 tonnes. The majority of the supply — 300,000 tonnes — was sourced from corn stored in customs warehouses, limiting the need for new imports.

Only 50,000 tonnes were purchased on a CFR basis, with two lots of 25,000 tonnes going to Team Agro at prices of $243.4–243.9/t. The remaining purchases were made on EXW terms from customs storage at $250.9–252.7/t, equivalent to approximately $242.9–244.7/t on a CFR basis.

The corn shipments cover key Turkish ports including Izmir, Adana, Mersin, Tekirdag, Samsun, Bandirma, and Iskenderun, with deliveries in 25,000-tonne lots between March 9 and April 6.

Traders note that both new import shipments and corn already in customs warehouses could participate in the tender, confirming TMO’s priority on using existing resources. The market expects that Turkey will maintain limited demand for imported corn in the short term, focusing primarily on domestic and warehouse stocks.
