Turkey continues to actively
1.7 MMT of Ukrainian barley was exported in August 2021/22. This is 56% more from July and by 30% higher compared to August 2020/21.
This season’s exports already totaled 2.8 MMT (+30% y-o-y and an all-time high for this period of the year), UkrAgroConsult reports.
As before, the top buyer of Ukrainian barley is China, which boosted imports by 24% from the same time last year.
Over 366 KMT of Ukrainian barley was shipped to Turkey during the two months vs. just 23 KMT for the entire last season.
The following importers also increased purchases from last season: Tunisia (+41%), Jordan (+12%), Morocco (fivefold), Lebanon (eightfold), Algeria (threefold).
Smaller shipments were made to the following countries: Saudi Arabia (-26% y-o-y), Libya (-12%), Israel (-9%).
