Trump threatens even higher tariffs on countries that circumvent tariffs due to court ruling

US President Donald Trump has threatened countries that “play games” with the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down tariffs with even higher tariffs.

He wrote about this on his social network Truth Social.

“Any country that wants to play games with the Supreme Court’s absurd decision, especially those that have been ripping off the United States for years and even decades, will face much higher tariffs, and worse, than the ones they recently agreed to,” Trump said.

“Buyers beware!” he added.

The European Commission has called on the United States to provide full clarity on its next steps following the Supreme Court’s decision. It is currently unclear how Washington plans to implement its intentions and whether additional duties will be applied to US trading partners.

Meanwhile, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that it will stop collecting tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) effective 12:01 a.m. ET (05:01 GMT) on Tuesday.

Thousands of U.S. companies are preparing for massive lawsuits against President Donald Trump’s administration after the tariffs were deemed illegal.
