In the US Corn Belt, weather conditions are favorable for a good soybean harvest and a record corn harvest, as well as for planting winter crops. This week saw some rain and temperatures hovering around 15-20 degrees Celsius. Similar weather is expected next week.

Scattered showers will occur across the US Plains toward Canada over the weekend, but dry, albeit cool, weather will remain on the prairies next week, helping to complete the harvest of a good canola and late-season crop.

Intermittent showers have been experienced across central Brazil this week, helping to accelerate soybean planting and crop development. More rain is forecast for early next week, with warm, dry weather expected to set in by the end of the week, allowing for more planting.

In Argentina , drier weather remains, but fairly high moisture reserves are conducive to wheat planting and the start of active soybean planting, especially in anticipation of a wave of precipitation that will begin over the weekend.

Eastern and southern Europe have been hit by rain this week, which will improve moisture reserves for winter crops, while next week a new front will bring prolonged precipitation to western Europe, delaying the harvest of late crops.

Dry and cold weather has set in in Ukraine this week, allowing the resumption of sunflower and soybean harvesting. But due to the lack of heat, grain moisture is very high, which increases losses. Corn harvesting is also delayed due to high grain moisture and a significant portion of immature corn, which, despite prolonged rainfall, is still continuing its vegetation.

Winter wheat crops in the southwest of the Russian Federation are experiencing a rainfall deficit, but only limited scattered showers are forecast there next week.

Much of Australia has been without rainfall for the past few weeks, reducing the potential for winter wheat and canola crops, which are in the final stages of filling. With only light scattered showers forecast for next week, concerns about the fate of the upcoming harvest could be a speculative factor supporting quotes.

In central China , prolonged rains have been falling for the past few weeks, delaying the corn harvest but helping the winter wheat and rapeseed crops. In northeastern China, dry and warm weather is helping the corn and soybean harvest. Overall, China is poised to harvest a record grain harvest this season.
