The area under corn in Ukraine will grow, but will not return to the pre-war level
Corn acreage will increase due to favorable climatic conditions. However, they will not return to the pre-war level, as they are limited by the growth of oilseeds.
This was announced during the event “Agricultural Outlook of Ukraine 2024-2033. Forecast estimates based on AGMEMOD model”, said Maria Bogonos, Head of the KSE Center for Food and Land Use Research.
The KSE expert notes that if before the war corn accounted for about 40% of the total harvested area, by 2033 this figure will reach 50%.
