Soybean production is expected to reach 6.1 mln tons

In MY 2024/2025 soybean production is expected to reach 6.1 mln tonnes, up 14.4% compared to the previous MY.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported this in the commentary to AgroPortal.ua.
At the same time, the association “Ukroliyaprom” forecasts a slightly lower gross harvest – at the level of 5.8-6.0 mln tonnes (last year 4.6 mln tonnes were harvested – Ed.), of which up to 4 mln tonnes can be exported, and 1.5-1.8 mln tonnes – for processing.
It is worth noting that this year Ukrainian farmers planted about 2.7 mln hectares of soybeans. This is the maximum acreage under this crop for all the years of independence. The previous record of 2.1 mln hectares was set in 2015.
In particular, compared to 2023, the planted areas were increased by 44%.
