Sowing of sunflower started in Ukraine
18 regions of Ukraine have already started sowing spring crops. Thus, all categories of farms sowed 293 thou hectares of grains and legumes, including:
- spring wheat – 76.1 thou hectares
- spring barley – 168.1 thousand hectares;
- peas – 35.3 thou hectares;
- oats – 14.2 thou hectares.
Ternopil region agrarians sowed the most spring grains and legumes – 67.6 thou hectares.
Over the past week, a total of 210 thsd ha of grains and legumes were planted, with Ternopil region leading the way with 47.2 thsd ha.
Farmers in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, and Cherkasy regions started sowing sugar beet.
Farmers in Odesa region started sowing sunflower.
