South Korean feedmaker purchased 66,000 T of corn in private transaction, traders claim

European traders reported on Monday that Cargill Agri Purina, a South Korean feedmaker, is believed to be the buyer of approximately 66,000 metric tonnes of animal feed corn on Friday in a private transaction without issuing a tender.
Optionally, the purchase could be made in South America or South Africa.
A consignment of grain was purchased at approximately $247.99 per ton, including freight and a $1.50 surcharge per ton for port unloading. Seller believed to be ADM trading house with arrival in South Korea between Feb. 15 and 2025.
The shipment was made between December 7 and January 6 from South America, or between December 17 and January 16 from South Africa.
The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later. Michael Hogan is reporting.
