South Korea has signed a contract to supply a large batch of corn

South Korean company Major Feedmill Group (MFG) has agreed to purchase 266,000 tonnes of feed corn in an international tender on June 25, market participants said. The deliveries will be made in four batches during September-October 2025, ensuring a stable supply of the country’s feed crops.
The first batch of 67,000 tonnes was purchased from CJ International at a price of $235.99 per tonne (C&F, plus $1.25 per tonne for additional unloading at the port). The corn, likely originating in the US or South America, is due to arrive by September 28. Another batch of the same volume, purchased from trading house Freepoint for $235.49 per tonne (C&F, plus $1.50 for unloading), is due to arrive by October 10. Its origin may include South America, the US or South Africa.
Two additional shipments of 66,000 tonnes each will be delivered by ADM at $235.35 per tonne (C&F, plus $1.25 for unloading). These shipments, originating in South America or South Africa, are scheduled for delivery on October 17 and 23. The contracts underscore South Korea’s active position in the global grain market to meet feed needs.
