Since the beginning of the Ukrainian Blsck Sea Corridor’s operation, almost 5 thsd vessels have been handled

During the operation of the Ukrainian Corridor in the Black Sea, almost 5 thousand vessels have been processed and over 130 million tons of cargo have been transshipped. This was stated by the head of the State Enterprise “Seaports Administration of Ukraine” Oleksandr Semirga.
The Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Johann Wadeful, together with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga, recently visited the Odessa Seaport. During the visit, the parties got acquainted with the work of the Ukrainian Corridor, which has been operating since August 2023. The head of the State Enterprise “Seaports Administration of Ukraine” Oleksandr Semirga spoke about the results of its work, the challenges of wartime and the restoration of logistics routes.
“Since the launch of the Ukrainian Corridor, almost 5 thousand vessels have been processed and over 130 million tons of cargo have been transshipped. Of these, more than 80 million tons are grain. The port infrastructure is constantly under enemy attack – shelling occurs every week. But every industry worker understands the importance of their work and the role that Ukrainian ports play in supporting global food and logistics security,” Oleksandr Semirga noted.
The ministers also inspected the building of the Odessa Marine Terminal, which was damaged as a result of a Russian missile strike in September 2023. Oleksandr Semirga emphasized that the attacks are systemic in nature — since July 2023 alone, more than 80 attacks on port infrastructure facilities in the Odessa region have been recorded.
