Saudi Arabia announces tender to purchase 655 thsd tons of wheat
The Kingdom’s General Food Security Authority (GFSA) has announced a tender to purchase 655,000 tons of hard wheat for milling, of optional origin, with a protein content of 12.5%, Reuters reports.
The deadline for submission of bids is February 27, 2026. Shipments are scheduled for delivery between May and July 2026, distributed to Jazan port (one shipment), Dammam (three shipments), Yanbu (three shipments), and Jeddah (four shipments).
According to the GFSA president, the quantity is part of the strategic plan to maintain wheat reserves and meet the needs of milling companies.
