Russian wheat exports slowed down

According to official data, Russia exported 4.2 MMT of wheat in September 2019/20, or 15% less than in September and 7% less than in October 2018/19, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat exports in July – September 2019/20 is 8% down from the same period in MY 2018/19 and up 26% from MY 2017/18.

Turkey became the top importer this season: it purchased twice as much Russian wheat as during the same period last season.

In addition, an upward trend persists in the following countries: Azerbaijan – three times as much as in MY 2018/19, Israel – up 4% from last season, Bangladesh – up 1%.

Exports to most other destinations fell against July-September last year: Egypt: 32%, Vietnam: 53%, the EU: 48%, Nigeria: 33%.
