In July-September 2025, Russia exported 10.9 million tons of wheat — 29% less than last year. This is reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

The forecast for supplies for the whole year was reduced to 43.4 million tons compared to 53 million tons in the previous marketing year, of which 44 million tons were wheat.

The reasons for the decline were weaker demand from importers (primarily Egypt), competition from Argentina, Australia and the EU, as well as a deterioration in export profitability due to the strengthening of the ruble, an increase in the price of grain within the country and a 30% increase in customs duties.

The FIS notes that such dynamics will weaken the position of the crop in the world grain market, reduce foreign exchange earnings and deepen pressure on the economy of the aggressor state, which is already under sanctions.
