Russia withdraws security guarantees in the Black Sea. And it comes from the center in Istanbul

Russia is “withdrawing” its guarantees of safety of navigation in the Black Sea and is also withdrawing from the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul due to the termination of the “grain deal”. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Russia has once again reiterated its thesis that the West is not fulfilling the “promised agreements” on the export of Russian ammonia, and is not reconnecting Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT system.

The aggressor country has also invented the idea that Ukrainian food is allegedly exported not to needy countries, but to countries with high and above-average incomes, including the EU.

Thus, Russia opposes further extension of the agreement and has informed the Turkish and Ukrainian sides, as well as the UN Secretariat, of this fact.

“This means the withdrawal of guarantees of navigation safety, the curtailment of the maritime humanitarian corridor, the restoration of the regime of a temporarily dangerous area in the northwestern Black Sea, and the disbanding of the JCC in Istanbul. Without Russia’s participation, the Black Sea Initiative will cease to function on July 18,” the statement said.

At the same time, Russia allows for the resumption of the “grain corridor”.

“If Western capitals really value the Black Sea Initiative, they should seriously consider fulfilling their obligations and actually removing Russian fertilizers and food from sanctions. Only when concrete results are obtained, not promises and assurances, will Russia be ready to consider the resumption of the “agreement,” the aggressor country’s Foreign Ministry added.

Termination of the “grain deal”

Today, the Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the “grain deal” negotiations have been effectively terminated.

The Russian Embassy in Belarus handed over a note to Ukraine stating that the initiative should be completely terminated as of July 18.

At the same time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants the deal to continue. He plans to discuss the initiative at a meeting with the dictator in August.
