Russia exported more than 1.1 MMT of sunflower seed
Sunflower seed exports in September-April 2019/20 was record high at 1167.7 KMT against 144.6 KMT a year earlier.
The bulk of this sunflower seed was shipped to Turkey (46% of total exports), the EU (38%), China (5%), Kazakhstan (5%) and Belarus (4%).
Growth in exports was observed to Turkey (manifold), Romania (manifold), China (+369%), Belarus (+63%), Kazakhstan (+49%).
A slowdown in exports was registered to Armenia, Uzbekistan and USA.
The Eurasian Economic Union has decided to restrict sunflower seed exports outside the Union until June 30, 2020. The extension of the ban until August 31 is under consideration, UkrAgroConsult reports.
