Rosario raises Argentina’s wheat harvest forecast to 23 mln tons

Argentina’s 2025/26 wheat harvest forecast is 23 million tonnes, the Rosario Grain Exchange announced on Wednesday, raising its estimate due to high yields thanks to abundant soil moisture.
The new forecast, higher than the previous 20 million tonne estimate, is due to months of above-normal rainfall in the country’s main agricultural regions. If confirmed, the harvest would equal the production record set four seasons ago.
“We’ve never seen wheat like this,” experts told the exchange, according to its October report. Buenos Aires Province is currently showing the highest yield, at around 4 tonnes per hectare.
Argentine farmers are expected to begin harvesting in the coming weeks, with harvesting expected to be completed in January.
The exchange maintained its soybean and corn harvest forecasts at 47 million tonnes and a record 61 million tonnes, respectively. Corn planting for the 2025/26 crop is 28% complete, and soybean planting will begin in the second half of October.
Argentina is the world’s third-largest corn exporter and the leading supplier of soybean oil and meal.
