Romania. Soil moisture supply is higher than in 2018

Weather conditions. Last week, increased air temperatures set in across Romania again (6..9°С above long-term normals). The average air temperature was within +9…+19°С. Even +24..+26°C was registered in the southeast on November 6.

Moisture supply. Precipitation of various intensity occurred almost all over the country this past week, except for the east and southeast. Its amounts were high in the west (20-25 mm) and the central regions (15 mm). Severe soil drought persists in the south and southwest of Romania, slowing down growth and development of winter crops there.

Noteworthy is that this year’s moisture supply is higher than in 2018, when soil drought dominated all of the country’s farming regions at the time, except for small areas in the west, reports UkrAgroConsult.
