Romania. Soil moisture continues to shrink at a fast pace
Weather conditions. Elevated air temperatures persist all over Romania. They stay 4..6°С above the long-term average for this time of year. Air temperatures averaged -5..+9°С. On January 25, daytime temperatures in the south were within a range of +10..+15°С.
Moisture supply. The country received no effective precipitation for a second week in a row and soil moisture continues to shrink at a fast pace, especially in the south where abnormally warm weather persists.
As a result of thaws, winter crops resumed growth in the daytime that causes the plants to lose hardiness rapidly. A cold spell may kill winter crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.
