Romania reaps 9.62 mln T wheat – stats office
Romania’s production of wheat and maize rose on the year in 2023 as yields recovered, but sunseed crops fell, final data from the National Statistics Board showed on Friday.
The European Union state reaped 9.62 million tonnes of wheat, up 11% from 8.7 million tonnes in 2022. Revised data showed the maize harvest stood at 8.74 million tonnes, up 9% on the year, bigger than initially estimated. Sunseed production was 2.02 million tonnes, down 4.3%.
