Romania. Rainfall produced a beneficial effect on winter and spring crops development
Weather conditions. Last week, air temperatures in Romania were at long-term normal levels, ranging from +7 to +18°C. In the north, it was 2..1°C cooler than normal.
In the daytime, the 0-5 cm soil layer warmed up to +12..+20°C that was favorable for faster planting of spring crops.
Moisture supply. Precipitation in the form of rain occurred all over Romania (10-35 mm during the week), its highest rates were seen in northern, southern and central parts of the country (20-35 mm), UkrAgroConsult reports.
Recent rainfall continues producing a beneficial effect on spring and winter crops’ development and thereby improving the harvest prospects.
According to weather forecasts, the north of Romania will receive some 25-35 mm of precipitation within the coming 4-7 days. Air temperatures in the south will exceed long-term normals: the thermometers will show up to +27°C there.
