Romania increases rapeseed area for 2025 harvest

The drought persists in the south-east of the country (Oltenia county), where some winter rapeseed losses and unfavorable conditions for winter cereals were recorded. Winter crops entered winter in good condition in other producing counties, thanks to precipitation and return to normal temperature regime.
Some market participants expect record winter rapeseed areas, despite pessimistic outlook in early autumn. On the other hand, sharp declines are expected in spring crops – corn and sunseed, assuming the drought risks.
