Romania completed spring planting
Weather conditions. Air temperatures in Romania last week were above long-term normals (4..6°C) – they ranged within +11..+23°C. In the daytime, the 0-5 cm soil layer warmed up to +12..+24°C that was favorable for crop development.
Moisture supply. Little precipitation occurred mostly in the north (5-10 mm over the week). Rainfall since the beginning of May has moistened the topsoil (0-20 cm). The soil moisture content is at a fair level everywhere except for the southeast.
This week precipitation rates in growing regions will be 50% (locally 100%) above normal that will improve condition of spring and winter crops. In fact, spring planting is complete, UkrAgroConsult reports.
