According to the port data, in September 2019/20 Romania exported 140 KMT of barley. This was 72% higher than in the same month of 2018 and 119% higher than the average volume in the previous 3 seasons, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In September key buyers of Romanian barley were Libya and Saudi Arabia.
In July-September 2019/20 exports of Romanian barley via ports reached 762.3 KMT (+67% compared to the same period of 2018/19).
Current export pace is the highest compared to the three-year average (+24%) thanks to more attractive barley FOB prices this season. High demand is seen from the EU, Japan, traditional African importers as well as from the countries of the Middle East.
