In January-February 2026, Ukraine exported 9.95 million tons of agricultural products for a total of $4 billion. Compared to the same period in 2025, the physical volume of exports remained almost unchanged, while foreign exchange earnings increased by 9.3%.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

As Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky noted, the results of the first months of the year demonstrate the stability of the Ukrainian agricultural sector and a gradual transition to the export of products with higher added value.

“Despite the difficult conditions of the war, the Ukrainian agricultural sector maintains stable export volumes and increases foreign exchange earnings. We see a positive trend – the share of processed products is growing, in particular, the export of rapeseed oil has significantly increased. At the same time, diversification of sales markets and expansion of the geography of exports remains an important task,” Taras Vysotsky noted.

The key trading partner for Ukrainian agricultural products remains the European Union countries. In January-February 2026, they accounted for about 50% of foreign exchange earnings from agricultural exports.

The countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) provided another 20% of export earnings. The role of Turkey has significantly increased – its share in the structure of agricultural exports reached 13%. In monetary terms, supplies to this country have more than doubled – from $247 million in January-February 2025 to $507 million in 2026.

“The largest export goods traditionally remain corn, sunflower oil, wheat, soybeans and meat,” the ministry states.

At the same time, a noticeable change has occurred among the top ten main export items: rapeseed oil exports have grown rapidly. In January-February 2026, Ukraine exported $102 million worth of rapeseed oil, which placed it in eighth place among all agricultural commodities by export value. For comparison, a year ago, rapeseed oil exports amounted to only $3 million, and its position in the export ranking was 61st. This was the result of the development of processing and economic policy aimed at increasing added value in the agricultural sector.

In the first two months of 2026, corn exports increased by 20% – from 4.7 million tons to 5.6 million tons. The main driver was a significant increase in supplies to Turkey – from 530 thousand tons to 1.6 million tons.

At the same time, wheat exports decreased by 43% – from 2.1 million tons to 1.2 million tons. Supplies to EU countries decreased the most – from 850 thousand tons to 88 thousand tons. One of the reasons was the record wheat production in the European Union in 2025, which reached 134.4 million tons – one of the highest figures in the entire history of observations.

Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
