Rains in Brazil cause problems with corn harvest

However, the harvest may increase by 18-20 million tons
Long rains in Brazil are slowing down the harvest of the second corn crop, known as “safrinha”, but analysts are forecasting a record harvest of 123.3 million tons, which will significantly exceed last year’s figures.
According to Agroconsult estimates, the harvest may increase by 18-20 million tons, despite unfavorable weather conditions that are complicating the harvesting campaign.
Brazilian corn exports in the first half of June this year remain modest, reaching only 0.2 million tons, while last year 0.6 million tons were shipped in the same period. However, experts expect a significant increase in export deliveries in July and August, compensating for the current lag.
