Rainfall in the US, Brazil and Ukraine is supporting the development of corn and late crops

Last week, heavy rains hit major soybean and corn growing regions in the US, delaying planting but improving soil moisture, while rains continue in Brazil ahead of the dry season.
In Ukraine, rains and a decrease in temperatures began over the weekend, which will improve the condition of winter crops and facilitate the sowing and germination of spring crops. During the week, cold weather will prevail with temperatures of 5-15 ° C and rains that will bring 10-15 mm of precipitation. However, the May precipitation rate is 35-75 mm, and crops need 100-150 mm of precipitation to cover the moisture deficit. Currently, 60% of the area has been sown with spring crops, and rains will accelerate sowing in the near future.
Dry weather this week in the Black Sea region has hampered the development of winter wheat crops. Over the weekend, a front brought rains there, which will pass through Ukraine and reach the southwest of the Russian Federation, improving the condition of winter and spring crops.
In the Southern Plains and Midwest , rains last week delayed planting and replenished soil moisture. Dry, warm weather next week will accelerate planting and crop development. In the Northern Plains, precipitation reduced dry conditions ahead of spring wheat planting.
In the Canadian prairies, warm and dry weather in the coming week will allow for accelerated planting of canola and spring wheat.
Central and northern Brazil experienced heavy rains last week, ending the rainy season, significantly replenishing moisture reserves and creating favorable conditions for pollination and filling of the second crop of corn, as well as for the sowing of winter wheat, which will begin in a few weeks. A front could bring additional precipitation to southern regions during the week.
Argentina has had dry weather last week, allowing for faster sowing of soybeans and corn. Rains are expected this week, which will improve conditions for sowing winter wheat.
In Europe, dry weather last week facilitated the sowing of spring crops, and over the weekend a front brought rain to the southeastern regions, which replenished moisture reserves.
Most agricultural regions of Australia remain short of the rainfall needed in the near future to complete sowing and develop crops, although some regions of the west and New South Wales have received light rain in recent days.
