Polish farmers will protest: they put forward 5 demands, including stopping imports from Ukraine

Polish farmers will gather in Szczecin on May 14 to protest against the European Union’s agricultural policy and the “inaction of the national government.” The organizers of the event announced this, also announcing a live broadcast on social networks, writes Farmer.pl.
The organizers voiced five key demands:
- The protesters demand an end to the import of “cheap products from Ukraine” and third countries, which, according to them, destroys the domestic market and reduces crop prices to unprofitable levels.
- The farmers oppose new regulatory restrictions, which, in their opinion, threaten the existence of livestock farms.
- They believe that the EU’s environmental requirements are too strict and threaten the profitability of agricultural production.
- The participants of the action call for protecting the land market and giving preference to local farmers in the issue of leasing state-owned land.
- Farmers are demanding an honest system for assessing drought losses based on real field surveys, not just satellite data.
“This is no longer just a protest — it’s a cry for survival. If we don’t stop this policy now, Polish agriculture will disappear in a few years,” the organizers emphasize.
All residents of the region, not just farmers, are invited to participate in the action. The event will be peaceful, and numerous agricultural, civic, and local organizations will join it. A live broadcast is planned on Facebook.
