Poland imported US soybean meal for the first time since 2019
The first major shipment of soybean meal from the United States to Poland since 2019 arrived at the port of Gdynia this week. This is the first part of a procurement program with an estimated value of $75 million, the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) announced.
The M/V Archon unloaded about 60,000 tons of U.S. soybean meal, which was purchased by Bunge’s Polish subsidiary.
“This shipment demonstrates the benefits of sustainable U.S. soybean production for Poland’s growing livestock and poultry industries, which have a growing need for reliable, high-quality and sustainable soybean raw materials. It also lays a new foundation for cooperation between U.S. Soy and Poland — and the EU as a whole,” the statement said.
USSEC noted that they are pleased with the new partnership and hope for further success in cooperation with the Polish and European feed and oilseed processing industries.
