Over two years, the Ukrainian grain corridor has transported 84 mln tons of agricultural products.
Two years ago, Ukraine, despite full-scale Russian aggression, launched a sea corridor — a temporary sea route that ensured uninterrupted transportation of goods. During this time, more than 137 million tons of cargo were transported by sea on board 5,300 ships, which allowed Ukraine to maintain a key role in ensuring global food security.
Of the more than 137 million tons of cargo transported through the Ukrainian corridor, 84 million tons are agricultural products. Ukrainian grain and other goods are exported to 54 countries around the world in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
This helps to keep world food prices stable and prevent famine in countries dependent on grain imports. Despite constant shelling from Russia, the route continues to operate.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
