Over 550 thsd ha of grain have already been sown in Ukraine

As of March 28, 2025, farmers in all regions of Ukraine have sown 551.8 thousand hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops. They have also begun sowing sugar beets and soybeans.

Currently, the largest area of ​​crops is barley — 315.5 thousand hectares. Spring wheat has already been sown on 79.8 thousand hectares, peas – 102.9 thousand hectares, oats – 50.7 thousand hectares.

Leading regions in terms of sowing rates:

  • Mykolaiv region: 60.1 thousand hectares (wheat – 3 thousand hectares, barley – 32 thousand hectares, peas – 24.5 thousand hectares, oats – 0.6 thousand hectares);
  • Ternopil region: 58.1 thousand hectares ha (wheat – 14 thousand ha, barley – 36.8 thousand ha, peas – 3.7 thousand ha, oats – 3.6 thousand ha);
  • Vinnytsia region: 53 thousand ha (wheat – 10.4 thousand ha, barley – 34.5 thousand ha, peas – 7 thousand ha, oats – 1.1 thousand ha);
  • Kirovohrad region: 48.8 thousand ha (wheat – 1.5 thousand ha, barley – 29.7 thousand ha, peas – 16.5 thousand ha);
  • Volyn region: 47 thousand ha (wheat – 9 thousand ha, barley – 14 thousand ha, peas – 4 thousand ha, oats – 20 thousand ha).

Sugar beets are sown on an area of ​​17.8 thousand hectares.

Soybeans are sown on an area of ​​0.6 thousand hectares.

Let us remind you that in total, in 2025, it is planned to sow more than 5.7 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, which corresponds to the level of 2024. The main feature of the new season will be an increase in the area under spring wheat by 28%, to 222.8 thousand hectares. Such changes in the crop structure correspond to stable demand for wheat from processing enterprises and exporters.
