One of the world’s largest port operators is considering investing in the Romanian port of Constanta
The Arab port operator, AD Ports Group (UAE), has signed a framework agreement with the National Company for the Management of Seaports of Romania to study investment opportunities and develop the port of Constanta. This is reported by Voice of Emirates.
The document provides for cooperation in the following areas:
- development of existing and new port infrastructure,
- implementation of digital solutions,
- implementation of projects in the field of sustainable development.
In particular, it concerns the use of renewable energy, improving waste management and reducing emissions.
In 2025, the port of Constanta handled about 88 million tons of cargo (liquid, bulk and general), and also processed about 1 million TEU of containers.
Due to its location at the entrance to the Danube-Black Sea Canal, the port provides a connection between sea routes and inland waterways, serving the markets of Eastern and Central Europe. As a multimodal hub, it combines sea, rail, road and river transport and plays an important role in trade, including agricultural products.
AD Ports Group’s investments are part of the strategy to develop the Middle Corridor, a trade route between China and Europe through Central Asia. In recent years, the company has implemented a number of projects in the region, including creating a joint venture with the National Railways of Kazakhstan, opening a logistics center in Tbilisi and participating in the development of grain infrastructure at the port of Kuryk.
For almost 30 years of expertise in the agri markets, UkrAgroConsult has accumulated an extensive database, which became the basis of the platform AgriSupp.
It is a multi-functional online platform with market intelligence for grains and oilseeds that enables to get access to daily operational information on the Black Sea & Danube markets, analytical reports, historical data.
