Oilseed harvest in Russia nears completion
Russia is nearing the final stage of its oilseed harvest, with total production exceeding 29 mln tons by the end of October — 4% higher than last year. The growth was mainly driven by soybeans and rapeseed, while sunflower seeds results remained stable.
Sunseed has been harvested from 82% of the planted area, producing 15.1 mln tons with an average yield of 1.52 t/ha, up 0.14 t/ha from 2024. Rapeseed output reached 5.8 mln tons, and soybeans set a ten-year record at 8.3 mln tons, with yields averaging 2.11 t/ha (+0.37 t/ha year-on-year). Analysts attribute the increase in soybean and rapeseed production to expanded acreage and improved agricultural technologies.
