November in Bulgaria will be favorable for the development of winter crops
In November 2025, weather conditions in Bulgaria will remain mostly favorable for growing winter crops. The air temperature is expected to be close to the climatic norm or slightly higher, and the amount of precipitation will be at or below the monthly average. This will allow farmers to carry out the necessary autumn agrotechnical work, including soil preparation and crop care.
In October, excessive precipitation fell on most of the country – 2-3 times more than the norm (in particular, in Sofia, Pleven, Lovech, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora and Burgas). Because of this, the soil remained too wet, which delayed the pre-sowing cultivation and sowing of winter cereals. Therefore, a significant part of the areas planned for wheat and barley will be sown in November.
Meteorologists predict that most November crops will not have time to fully form before the start of wintering. At the same time, the predominance of warm days will promote plant development: early crops in the eastern regions and the Danube Plain are expected to begin tillering, while later crops are expected to reach the 1–3 leaf stage.
