The company “Nibulon” increases the volume of river transportation on the Danube and expands international logistics. After entering the markets of the Middle and Upper Danube in 2025, the company opened a route involving the ports of Moldova, in particular the port of Giurgiulesti, the company’s press service reported.

Within the framework of the new logistics scheme, the ship made a voyage on the route Izmail (Ukraine) – Galats (Romania), transporting 3,600 tons of metallurgical slag. After that, the fleet moved to the port of Giurgiulesti (Moldova), where it loaded 5,000 tons of rapeseed for delivery to Constanta (Romania). The total amount of transported cargo in one flight exceeded 8,600 tons.

The company has also implemented a two-way logistics scheme. It provides for the delivery of grain from Izmail to Bulgaria, followed by loading with mineral fertilizers in the ports of Serbia for transportation to Moldova. This approach reduces the number of empty flights.

Own fleet allows the company to transport various types of products; agricultural goods; fertilizers; slag; metal. During 2025, “Nibulon” transported more than 110,000 tons of cargo by river transport.

The port of Giurgiulesti is the only port of Moldova with access to the sea (across the Danube). It has the status of a free economic zone and plays a critical role in the logistics of the region, especially after the blocking of part of the Ukrainian sea routes. In 2025, the cargo turnover of the port increased significantly thanks to the transit of Ukrainian grain and fuel.

It is also important to note that the development of logistics on the Upper Danube opens direct access to the markets of Hungary, Austria and Germany. This allows Ukrainian exporters to reduce their dependence on the deep-water ports of the Black Sea.

Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
