MPOA affirms commitment to sustainable palm oil sector growth
The Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) has welcomed Datuk Seri Johari Abd Ghani and Datuk Chan Foong Hin on their respective appointments as the new Minister and new Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK).
“Collaboratively, we aim to sustain the momentum, engaging towards aiding policies that strive to drive sectorial growth and competitiveness, market access and sustainability,” said MPOA chief executive Joseph Tek Choon Yee in a statement.
He added that the MPOA pledged its continued support to the Ministry to navigate challenges, unlock opportunities, and ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for Malaysia’s palm oil industry and the nation.
The MPOA comprises 129 esteemed members, including industry leaders such as Sime Darby Plantation Bhd, FGV Holdings Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, and IOI Corp Bhd.
The association, focused on commodity-based “bread and butter” business aspects, oversees its members’ nearly two million hectares of oil palm plantations and member stakeholders’ involvement in the palm oil supply chain both domestically and internationally.
