More than 90,400 ha of agricultural land sold in Ukraine since market opened

As of October 29, Ukraine registered more than 36,500 agreements on the purchase and sale of agricultural land; the total area of sold farmland exceeded 94,000 hectares, Ukrinform reports.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, 5,208 notaries submitted applications for access to the State Land Cadastre. The total number of applications amounted to 36,506.
Between July 1 and October 29, 90,438 hectares of agricultural land were sold in Ukraine. The largest areas of farmland were sold in Kharkiv region (11,779.2 ha), Kirovohrad region (11,673.6 ha), and Poltava region (7,854.7 ha).
As reported, Ukraine officially launched the land market on July 1. Until 2024, only Ukrainian citizens will be able to buy agricultural land – up to 100 hectares per person. The issue of selling land to people without Ukrainian citizenship will be decided only in a nationwide referendum.
