Moldova: Rain has caused damage throughout the country

Damage has been recorded in some parts of the country in recent days following rainfall, and the damage is yet to be estimated. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Liliana Pușcașu.
According to the IGSU, more than 156 ha of oilseed rape were affected in the Petrușani locality, Râșcani district.
In Hoginesti, Calarasi district, the rain affected more than 5,000 metres of local road and several agricultural fields. Here the rain destroyed 25 ha of maize, 30 ha of vines, 5 ha of sunflowers and 39 ha of gardens. In Chișcăreni, Sângerei district, heavy rain with hail damaged more than 35 ha of maize.
The emergency committees are working to estimate the damage in the affected area.
