Malaysia’s palm oil output up 17% in March, stockpiles rise – MBOP
Malaysia’s palm oil exports rose 0.91% in March 2025 to 1 million tonnes from 996,000 tonnes in February, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said.
In its March 2025 Industry Performance Report, the MPOB said crude palm oil (CPO) production rose 16.76% to 1.38 million tonnes from 1.18 million tonnes previously.
Palm kernel production increased 18.23% to 336,000 tonnes in March. Crude palm kernel oil production increased 15.20% to 149,900 tonnes, while palm kernel cake production increased 20.74% to 172,000 tonnes.
CPO stocks fell 5.68% to 779,000 tonnes in March from 826,000 tonnes a month earlier.
Processed palm oil stocks rose 14.63% to 783,000 tonnes, while total palm oil stocks increased 3.52% to 1.56 million tonnes.
Palm kernel oil exports fell 3.11% to 56,000 tonnes in March from 58,000 tonnes in February. Palm kernel cake exports fell 36.90% to 122,000 tonnes, while biodiesel exports fell 64.46% to 14,000 tonnes from 42,000 tonnes previously.
However, oleochemical exports rose 5.74% to 209,000 tonnes.
CPO imports were flat in March, while palm kernel oil imports fell 0.17% to 12,000 tonnes.
