Malaysia’s palm oil exports up 9.62% in April, production up 21.52% – MPOB

In its April industry performance report, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said Malaysia’s palm oil exports in April rose 9.62% to 1.10 million tonnes, while crude palm oil (CPO) production increased 21.52% or 298,000 tonnes to 1.69 million tonnes from 1.39 million tonnes in the previous month.
Palm kernel production increased 21.42% to 409,000 tonnes in April from 336,000 tonnes in March. Crude palm kernel oil production increased 17.82% to 176,000 tonnes, while palm kernel cake production increased 11.70% to 192,000 tonnes.
CPO stocks in April rose 34.83% to 1.05 million tonnes from 779,000 tonnes a month earlier.
Refined palm oil stocks rose 3.99% to 814,000 tonnes from 783,000 tonnes in March, while total palm oil stocks increased 19.37% to 1.87 million tonnes.
MPOB also reported that palm kernel oil exports rose 77.02% to 99,000 tonnes.
Palm kernel cake exports increased by 14.52% to 140 thousand tons, oleochemical exports grew by 5.90% to 221 thousand tons from 209 thousand tons a month earlier, and biodiesel exports increased by 57.81% to 23.5 thousand tons.
Earlier, the US Department of Agriculture in its new report reduced its estimate of soybean use in biofuel production in the 2024/25 season, but increased it by 6% for the 2025/26 season to 6.3 million tons.
