Major wheat producers in China complete mechanized harvesting

Major winter wheat producers in China have reaped 20.16 million hectares, or 99 percent of the crop, drawing the summer harvest to a close. The winter wheat has been harvested in nine provinces: Sichuan, Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hebei, Shandong, Shaanxi and Shanxi. Mechanized wheat harvesting in the major producers of the Yellow, Huaihe and Haihe river basins in north China has basically ended. A total of 72.3 percent of summer grain has been sown, which is 0.9 percentage points faster than the same period last year.
