Kernel became the largest exporter of Ukraine in 2024

In 2024, the agro-industrial company Kernel exported sunflower oil, corn, and wheat to 64 countries for a total of more than $3.7 billion, becoming Ukraine’s largest exporter. Forbes Ukraine reports that Kernel has made a significant contribution to the popularization of the Made in Ukraine brand and support for the national economy. In 2024, the agricultural sector accounted for the largest volume of Ukrainian exports – $20.7 billion (36.7%), ahead of the mining and metals industry and the IT sector.
However, 2025 brings new challenges for Ukrainian farmers. The harvest is expected to decline due to drought, which is likely to affect exports. Additional pressure may be exerted by the tense situation in the Black Sea, as well as the potential imposition of US and EU duties on agricultural products. At the same time, Forbes Ukraine analysts suggest that possible trade restrictions between the US and the EU may create new export opportunities for Ukrainian farmers, opening up markets in Europe that were previously available to US farmers.
