Kazakhstan’s barley exports to Iran grew 8 times in two months

In Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year the export of grain cargoes is growing, while new directions of transportation are being developed. In particular, there is a multiple increase in transportation of barley, lentils and corn, the press service of KTZ reported.

“Kazakhstan barley has again started to be imported by Iran with an increase of eight times in the last two months. For 10 months, barley export transportation amounted to 710 thousand tons (with an increase of 69%),” the national company said.

Exports of corn grain this year increased 1.5 times and amounted to 117 thousand tons. Transportation to Tajikistan increased by 38%, to Uzbekistan – more than 3 times. Besides, this year transportation of corn grain to Iran has been started.

Export of lentils increased seven times, up to 80 thousand tons. The lion’s share falls on European countries, the products go through the ports of the Russian Federation.

According to KTZh, transportation of peas increased three times. Imports from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan increased twofold, to Uzbekistan – three times.

Rice producers increased exports by +47% (52 thousand tons) with the development of new markets in Azerbaijan and Belarus.
