Kazakhstan. Grain production and exports in MY 2019/20 expected at a five-year low
The harvest of grains in Kazakhstan is drawing to an end, being roughly 90% complete. Because of drought, grain yield figures in major growing regions increasingly decreased from last year as harvest progressed. In addition, persistent precipitation that occurred at the height of harvest (from August 25 to the end of September) has already deteriorated the grain quality and may increase grain losses in the course of further conditioning, reports UkrAgroConsult.
UkrAgroConsult has cut its wheat crop forecast by another 0.4 MMT, down 16% from last season and the least in 7 years).
As a result, wheat and flour exports were also reduced.
UkrAgroConsult cut the crop forecast for all grains and pulses by another 0.5 MMT, down 13% from last season and the least in five years.
Grain export estimate including flour in grain equivalent was reduced by 0.24 MMT, down 26% and the least in five years.
