Jordan holds tender for barley purchase
On December 17, the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade held a tender for the purchase of 120,000 tons of feed barley of any origin, according to the Zerno On-line news agency, citing European traders.
A contract was signed for 60,000 tons of barley from Soufflet at $270 per ton on a C&F basis, with shipment scheduled for March 1-15.
The following companies also participated in the tender:
- Bunge, which bid $271.99 per ton;
- Cargill – $272.50;
- Olam – $274.79;
- LDC – $283.
The next tender for the purchase of 120,000 tons of feed barley of any origin will be held on December 24.
